This time with the snowboard 🏂 it went like this:

This time with the snowboard 🏂 it went like this: I gave it a temporary surrender, because how long can you keep sledding down the mountain on it anyway? It’s important to recognize when you’ve reached a point where you need an instructor to take the next steps—when you’re stuck somewhere you can’t get past on your own. I really missed my very first snowboard teacher and his calm guidance.
But… I took the skis ⛷️.
With my eyes closed I somehow made it to the mid-station with the lift, then went down the kids’ slope five times. After that I took the button lift higher up, stared at those three-level runs there and thought, what do you mean I can’t handle this?
I went down the short run twice, then took a break in the sun ☀️, and after that headed down a 6+ km descent. Teeeerrrrifying… 😬 More than half of it took over 1.5 hours because I realized my ski boots 🎿 were so big that my heels were wobbling inside, which didn’t help at all. And of course I didn’t really have the skills either. At one point my skis flew into the bushes and I started walking 🚶‍♀️, but about 100 meters later I realized it’s still faster on skis. My butt cheeks were on fire and cramped like crazy.
We stopped for an hour at one pub, I chewed on some fries and had a little dance 💃. That part I can still do well—in any position. And then down the mountain again.
Since the slope was gentler, I managed more or less okay. I won’t mention that for part of the way I came down on my back because I couldn’t stop. But damn, I’m proud—my butt was dry and I made it to the bottom.
And somehow, into that death-tired day, I still managed to fit in two hours of non-stop dancing 💃 at the après-ski. It was such an experience that I’ll probably be dreaming about the “sex athletes” I met there for quite a while. 😂 #kristakarik #bansko #skiing #mountains #travel

Time goes by here so fast that it’s a success if you manage to take a few photos 📸. On the third day of the sports camp, we decided to brave the rain 🌧️ and drive to see the mineral pools. At the same time, we also visited the Baba Vanga complex. I didn’t go into the pool — I still don’t like water 💦 — but my brother and I explored the whole complex on our own.
Since I enjoy seeing new places, I smoothly decided on behalf of everyone that we should take a proper road trip. Greece 🇬🇷, which was only about half an hour away by car, remained unvisited, but we did see Melnik and its surroundings with their vineyards 🍇. Since driving back to Bansko the same way didn’t seem interesting, we chose a 2.5-hour drive along road 🛣️ no. 198. I can definitely recommend it to everyone. The views of the mountains 🗻 and valleys were breathtaking. Bulgaria has incredibly beautiful nature. 🏞️#kristakarik #bulgaria #melnik #rupite #travel

When the idea suddenly exploded in my head that we should all take a photo together at the top, there was only one thing to do — somehow get up there. And yes, the lifts were running! The others had gone up the mountain earlier, so I had to follow them alone. Of course I went, that wasn’t a problem.
And then it began… I knew I’m afraid of riding gondolas and lifts high up, but the very severe panic attack that came yesterday was something completely unexpected. For 25 minutes it escalated into crying and gagging, not to mention my hands shaking.
An hour at the bar with the others and a 5 cl tequila saved the situation. The views from the top were worth the fear. It was just so, so beautiful there. I climbed higher above the center and enjoyed the silence on my own — the snowy slopes — and thought that the only thing missing now was a soaring eagle. At that moment I realized that I myself am the 🦅 today. #kristakarik #bansko #bulgaria #travel #mountains
